Legacy: ASY: Synthesis Tables
Shown below are SCRIPT and CONTROL tables used in ASY to control the synthesis of the simple articulation, /dah/. Each row of a SCRIPT table provides a description of the midsagittal configuration of the vocal tract, at some unspecified point in time. The CONTROL table provides timing and source information. When the two tables are combined, an articulation over time is generated, on a pitch-pulse by pitch-pulse basis. If the parameter values in the SCRIPT table do not change from row to row, the result is a steady-state utterance. If the rows of the SCRIPT table do change, then the shape of the tract changes over time. More details of this synthesis process are covered in the Synthesis of /da/ section.
